STROUD REPAIRS
COMPUTER... REPAIRS AND ADVICE
"prevention is better than cure"
The majority of computers bought to us for repair are not faulty..! Particularly when there are children using them, downloading and / or installing one game demo after another and deleting them rather than un installing them as you should.
Software related faults can usually be avoided by following the install remove instructions properly. NEVER right click a file and delete.. if you are not sure then leave it there and ask advice..
ALL COMPUTERS MUST....
Be defragged regularly. ' start - programs - accessories - system tools - disk defragmenter ' Select your hard disc ( C by default ) click ok
NB> if you click details you can see the information stored on your hard disc being sorted..
NB> if you find the program keeps reporting " DRIVE CONTENTS CHANGED RESTARTING " Shut down any other programs that are running, If it seems that there are no other programs running, press ALT and CTRL together and hold them down while also pressing ( once ) the DELETE key. A window will open labeled ' CLOSE PROGRAM ' within it is a list of all programs running though it is not often obvious which program owns the label. You can select each program with the mouse and click ' END TASK ' to stop it running. You must leave EXPLORER ,and DISK DEFRAGMENTER in the box, systray ( the window at the bottom left of your pc window ) can also be left on.
DISK CLEANUP is also useful, computers run faster with a tidy empty hard disk. ' start - programs - accessories - system tools -DISK CLEANUP '
